• Must be at least 16 years of age

• Must submit to a criminal background check

• Must be a resident of the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department district

• Must submit a driving record with application

• Must submit to a drug test

• Must submit to a physical by department physician

If voted into membership, you will serve a probation period of one year during which you will be required to:

• Attend monthly business meeting’s unless it conflicts with work

• Stand a monthly assigned duty

• Run at least the minimum of 6 calls per quarter

• Attend posted training events

• Enroll in and complete a VA Department of Fire Programs Firefighter 1 certification class

• Take an active part in fund drive activities

Also the Chief / Assistant Chief will set up a meeting time to meet with a Parent(s) or Legal Guardian(s) to discuss the operations within the fire service prior to accepting a minor (junior firefighter prospects application)
