The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for dedicated people that want to experience the challenging but rewarding experience of being a volunteer firefighter.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter you must be able to meet the certain criteria listed below. |
- Must be at least 18 years of age
|
- Must submit to a criminal background check
|
- Must be a resident of the Monelison Volunteer Fire Department district
|
- Must submit a driving record with application
|
- Must submit to a drug test
|
- Must submit to a physical by department physician
|
|
If voted into membership, you will serve a probation period of one year during which you will be required to: |
- Attend monthly business meeting’s unless it conflicts with work
|
- Stand a monthly assigned duty
|
- Run at least the minimum of 6 calls per quarter
|
- Attend posted training events
|
- Enroll in and complete a VA Department of Fire Programs Firefighter 1 certification class
|
- Take an active part in fund drive activities
|
