Welcome to Monelison
Volunteer Fire Department. We are part of the Monelison Volunteer
Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. This corporation is a non-profit
501(c)(3) organization.
I invite you to check our website often for updates and to see
some of the jobs we do for those in need. If you have any comments
or questions, please contact the webmaster.
The Monelison Volunteer Fire Department is a completely volunteer
department that serves the southern portion of Amherst County,
from Lynchburg, North Faulconerville and from Agricola, East Stapleton
as our first due territory. We are also responsible for providing
mutual aid assistance to Amherst, Pedlar, Big Island, Gladstone,
Piney River, Campbell County and Lynchburg on a as needed basis.
We now have a Junior Firefighter program to allow folks as young
as 16 years old to join our department.
Our members are your neighbors, friends, co-workers and fellow
citizens. They spend many countless hours away from family and
friends responding to calls and conducting department business
and training.
The fire service is rich in tradition and based around "brotherhood"
and comradery. If you are interested in becoming part of this
tradition we urge you to contact us for further.
Thank you,
Richard Hunter
Fire Chief
